A guest “with a bite” joins the star lineup at CCON | COMIC CON STUTTGART 2023: Rhona Mitra, who plays one of the main roles in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans as Sonja. The British actress also plays a bloodsucker in the series The Gates, where she can be seen as vampire Claire Radcliff.
The themes of science fiction, fantasy and mystery run like a thread through the actress’ impressive filmography. In the feature film Doomsday she embodies the main character Eden Sinclair, alongside Christopher Lambert (also a guest at CCON 2023) she plays the king’s daughter Kyra in Beowulf and for the mystery thriller Number 23 with Jim Carrey she slips into the skin of the student Laura Tollins. She also appears in three episodes of Stargate Universe as Commander Kiva.
Rhona Mitra, who is also a singer, started her career as a model. Her first small TV and stage roles followed, as well as her work as a presenter for several British programs. In 1997 she finally became known to a larger audience when she helped give a face to the action heroine Lara Croft from the computer game series Tomb Raider.
Other well-known series titles include productions such as Spartacus, Boston Legal, Nip/Tuck, The Last Ship, The Strain and Supergirl. Rhona Mitra’s current projects include a remake of the warrior Red Sonja, which is currently in post-production.
