Unpacked! Behind the scenes of a fan film adventure

Why do Stormtroopers hit so badly? Is it “human” failure or rather the material – or perhaps a completely different reason? And what else can the E-11 blaster actually do?

These and other questions are addressed in the witty short film E-11: Standard Issues by Robert Hranitzky. Experience an interesting look behind the scenes in this exciting presentation on Sunday at CCON | COMIC CON STUTTGART 2023 (“The Force Stage”, GALACTIC CANTINA, Hall 4)! Robert talks openly about his experiences and what he learned along the way, including the ups and downs, challenges and solutions that came with this highly ambitious project. He shows you his creative and technical workflow and how he created in-camera effects, props, sets, user interface animations, and high-quality visual effects. His non-commercial fan film, which took him a total of nearly five years to complete, is a love letter to the creators and fans of a galaxy far, far away.

Once upon a time, in a children’s room not so far, far away. This is where Robert’s journey began, a journey through galaxies and adventures inspired by the legendary films that captured his imagination: Star Wars. As a child, he began to create his own creative world by drawing comic book versions of Star Wars. These works were only the beginning, as they sparked in him the urge to create his own stories, characters and worlds to express his passion.

Today, after many years, Robert is proud to have followed his childhood dreams. As a self-employed filmmaker and motion designer in the creative and film industry, he has been able to turn his fascination with visual stories into reality. The creative energy that emerged in his youth still accompanies him and drives him to realize innovative projects.

Now, 35 years later, Robert has fulfilled his dream of making his own Star Wars fan film, entitled E-11 – Standard Issues …
